Hi guys,

I just picked up my '99 225 Sundowner today. Its been a life goal of mine since I was about 6 years old going up to the lake every weekend. I'm a seasoned boater, my parents had a boat from the time I was 6-18 ('88 215 Sundowner). Anyways 6 years of college, two bachelors degrees and 2 years into my sales career (pure commission car sales) later I finally picked one up. I've always loved the Sundowners for their great seating area while having a cuddy. It fits everything I need: v8 will pull me slalom skiing, good wake for wakeboarding and tubing, and a comfortable stay for myself and my girlfriend, along with separate space for others to crash under the camper top.

About the boat though. It has only 200 hours on it and the interior is like new. The sides where its blue and some of the decals has some dock rash, but it looks like most will wheel out. The boat is mint besides that. It was turn key minus the need for a throwable pfd and new flairs. Best of all the engine was replaced in 08 from overheating and it only has 50 hours on it since. It is bottom painted as well. I picked it up with the four winns trailer with surge brakes for $12.5k. I think I negotiated a good deal since the blue books say between $16-17k with the trailer for this region. Most I have seen listed in this condition are around 18-19.

First upgrade will be the terrible stereo. I'm going with an Alpine xda-100m head unit with a MC20 remote for the swim platform. I have amps from my car audio from my last car so I am good on strong amps already, but I need to pick up some Polk db 654's, or I may spring for the MM's.

But anyways on with the pics!

Thanks guys. I have been lurking on the board for a while and waited to join until I bought. Nice to see some other MI boaters on here. I have been on quite a few other forums: 600rr.net for my motorcycle, mtbr.net, hidplanet, a few car audio boards, and r/c boards a long time ago when I raced them. I went pretty overboard on the motorcycle upgrades, so I know I'll be doing quite a bit to this boat. Here is the build thread for my bike. It was my baby, and it was really tough selling it to buy the boat, however I am very happy with my choice now! I think I stole the boat for the price I paid.

Welcome, always glad to see another Sundowner on the forum! Nice boat, I see you have the U-wrap seats like mine. You'll love em, lots of options for entertaining on the water...

Yeah the seating was a major seller for me. Do you have a middle table for between the seats? I have seen some with it and was thinking of shopping around for a flush mount one. I can't wait for next summer to load it up with some friends and hit the water!

We have the U-wrap seats and love them.
Mine has a table that can be used in the cuddy or in the cockpit. Also have fill-in cushions that can turn the u-wrap into a flat bed/sunpad.

Yeah mine has the sun pad cushions to fill in but no table. The table would be nice while anchored...

I had the factory table, it was white particle board with a cheap vinyl strip around it, rather small too. I ditched that and made a new one out of pine hardwood. I made it bigger and cut cupholders in each corner (gotta have those), stained it a dark walnut, works great! If it ever stops raining, I will grab a pic of it and post it here...
