Here is an article in our paper this morning. Was planning to head up there to see the 20-24 waves and grab a beer.

Last time we were towed, would have been $1,600, wonder what the charge would be on this if he does not have insurance...

That sucks.

It seems he was trying to get where he had to go before the storm (Sunday) and the shallow water killed it....dang.

Firecadet613 sent me a link to really good pictures of this on CSR this morning. Sounds like the Captain has had some problems with hitting things in the past.

My BIL has a similar 530 Voyager. He has not had an experience like that before, thankfully.

We might run out to New Buffalo tomorrow to take a look. We had every intention to go see the waves today but they kept showing it on tv so we figured better to watch it in our living room vs. getting sandblasted at the lakeshore.

I'm sure your BIL picks his battles with mother nature a little more carefully. I have no sympathy for this guy, only for a waste of a beautiful boat. This isn't the 1800's, everyone has a smart phone and access to marine information. Ignore the gale force, waves height predictions, small craft warning and 24/7 news coverage of this storm for the last week..... you pay the price. The only positive I can see here is he helped the local tow and salvage economy. Rant complete..thank you for listening

I went out today in Grand Haven and wasn't that impressed. Don't get me wrong, they are big, but I was expecting more.
