Latest from the Miami boat show taken from Four Winn's own potato:

Looks like Frenchy is right back at the top of designing the most useless boats ever sold. That thing makes me embarrassed to say I'm a Four Winns fan. I hope he's there this weekend so I can give him a piece of my mind since they like to pretend this forum doesn't exist.

When did they slip this one in the lineup? I guess being in the winter frame of mind, I have been neglecting keeping up on the new releases.

Looking at the pics from the FW site, I have to say I'm impressed with the cuddy layout, well except for the aft bunk (looks like it is only 12 inches high!). And it looks like they got rid of that god-awful cockpit sink from the SD 235 and put an actual wetbar with fridge. Not too bad...

Well now that I see better pictures of it on the website...

Not bad.

I wish they would ditch the sunpad, it's stealing amost 3ft of cockpit space. The S235 would have this much space if they got rid of it.

We saw it at the SLC boat show. We liked the model except for the green color. That didn't appeal to us. The layout did though.

Wow they actually squeezed and aft sleeper in there.
These are starting to grow on me, but the colors are awful.

That french guy must not have given them a very big budget for a model.

Almost all the pictures of the S235 were taken from 12 inches away. Not a very good sales tool, IMO.

LOL
The boats styling looks to be marketed toward younger buyers. But they used their mom as a model?
That must be Frenchy's wife.

As a 30yo boat owner, that thing isn't marketed towards me. I like having women on my boat and you sure as hell know that I'm not going to spend gobs of money on 26ft boat to seat 5. That's insane. Here in FL that sunpad is a total waste of space. We don't anchor out to get sun. We beach up and party. That's why the 205 Sundowner of 2003-2005 is absolutely perfect. Sit's 6-7 comfortably, sleeps 3-4 inside if you're open minded, two outside for the couple that isn't open minded with the fill in and camper... and you can pick up one for 20k and they still look more modern then most boats.

There's nothing that new 265 Sundowner can do for me that an older four winns can't do better. I'm not sold.

All 3 of the "S" series (Sundowners) are clearly designed for the european market, where cuddy cabin boats are very popular. The color's are aimed at younger buyers that have 1 or 2 small kids. Cuddy's just do not sell that well in the majority of North America. Maybe things will change in time, but $50K up to $100K for these boats is gonna be a tough sell to US buyers IMO.

im figuring on repalacing my Tacoma with a new Tundra in the next few years which will allow me to go up to a 268 no problem. even if I slip it, I like the idea of being able to pull it whenever I want to clean or service it... because I am such a fanatic
