We are always looking for something good and simple to eat on the boat or while we are beached.
My first mate came up with the frito pie lunch.
At home, cut up lettuce, tomatoes, grate some cheese and anything else that you would put in a taco.
Put these in some resalable plastic bags and throw them in the cooler.
Grab a can of chili, you can heat it at home and put it in a thermos, or if we are beaching, we have a small stove and a sauce pan that we use to heat the chili.
Grab some individual bags of fritos.
At lunch time open the bags of fritos, add some chili and the taco toppings of your choice.
Enjoy right from the bag!!!!
Don't forget some plastic silverware.

The easiest is hot dogs of course! One of our favorite's other than steak is making pizza on the grill with those ready made mini pizza crusts. Last year we had a ranch chicken pizza made with grilled chicken, cheese, bacon, and instead of pizza sauce we used ranch dressing...wow was it good!

Good topic.... my two favorite things food and boating!

I just bought a 700 watt microwave for the Horizon (for a whopping $25 after rebate from Brandsmart). I haven't tried it yet. Not sure if it will run off an 800 watt inverter. But if it works... nothing like hot cheese sauce with the nacho chips

I usually get some fried chicken from publix and some cold drinks and water and one of those veggie platters and some bbq lays potato chips and I am golden. Here are a couple of pics to help you through the hard times.

Our usual is jalapeno venison sausage and block of cheese...some lunch meat for foldovers for lunch. Nothing fancy..sometimes I will throw some hot stuff in insulated bag such brisket etc.

We always bring a bunch of individual sized containers of pasta salad, one for each person and wont get wet in cooler or get soggy. Meat pies are always a hit too. Hummus or chips.

I'm getting hungry!

Thanks for the "enlightenment", Ben. I was also curious, and wondered if the sea pickle was somehow related the sea cucumber. I guess not. Other than a vaguely similar appearance the sea cucumber is actually an animal. My sympathy and support go to any stranded boater. I've brought several back to the dock, but haven't been on the back end of the rope........yet.
