I just finished my seamanship course and in it , they mentioned a flood indicator in the bilge area when and if the bilge pump fails. Anyone have such a device? I'm thinking this may be a good thing since we are beginning to have more over night trips and are sleeping on board. |

The alarm Txjole posted is probably better, as the 6' wire allows for placing the sensor in the bilge area and the alarm outside of the engine compartment - I believe that this would get around the ignition rated requirement for any device in the engine compartment (maybe not!). Likely the alarm I posted is not ignition rated. It'd be pretty ironic for a water sensor to go off, ignite fuel vapor, and start a fire. |
