Memorial day weekend I'll be slipping my boat on the river for the weekend. I didn't plan on a shore power hookup on my boat but what are the requirements? My a/c will have a standard power plug into the inverter. Can I plug the shore power into that or do need some kind of official plug on the boat with a transfer switch?

I don't see why you couldn't run a standard 110-120volt cord just for the a/c.
For years we used a 110-120volt cord with a three way splitter on the end in our cuddy. Ran a small heater and coffee pot.

Just make sure its a ground fault outlet you are plugging into.

I called the marina. They have an adapter for the power ped so I can plug in a standard extension cord that will plug to my ac. No prob they said

That will be "home base" for memorial day weekend. A bunch of buddies are staying across the street at the campground with their boats on trailer. i figured why pay for a cottage when i have a big cuddy with ac. Its $40 the whole weekend with power.

Awesome. I have been wanting to explore the St Johns River. Will you be going any distance to the North or South? Sanford (to the South) has a nice waterfront.

Sanford is where I'll put in at, that marina is 30 min away from my house its really fun there. Astor is 40mi up the river where the slip is. No idea where we will boat during the day, wherever the beer takes our herd of boats. My boating friends gave me a smug look when I told em I'm installing AC but I'm pretty sure when its 95 and sunny that weekend I'll have the most popular boat :)

There's bars with slips all over the st johns and beach party spots. Some of the best days I've ever boated has been onthe st johns
