I read that is a Cadillac Aluminum V8 STS engine, turned into an outboard.

Now that I read every page of your link, I did find one page tucked in there that mentions it is a CTS engine... so I guess my post was useless...
...almost as useless as a 557hp outboard post on a Four Winns forum :mrgreen:

Old news too. The OB was released a couple years ago at the 2011 Miami show, amidst much fanfare and hoopla. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that it would fit on any existing Four Winns boat, without sinking it. And it costs much more than a crate CTSV engine.

Oh I am well awaire of the release I saw it in 11. I simply think it is such a sweet motor.

Like the 80s Johnson 300v8 (buddy has a pair) simply a cool motor

I feel that the Yamaha 350 supercharged will be in the 400-450 area withing the coming year or so. As the yam is seriously detained. The yam is 30k the 557 is 60k only the guys that have the money to blow have them. But if you can afford 60/120/180 for power alone. Then you have enough and it doesn't matter.
