With spring weather finally here in VA and Memorial Day approaching in a month or so, anyone got launch dates penciled in on their calendars?

We hope to launch this Friday, weather supposed to be cloudy/rainy this weekend but that will give us time to inventory and reorganize after we get her in. A few boats are aleady in at our marina as a result of the beautiful weather last weekend.

Northern boaters, any sign of a reprieve? Seems like winter is never gonna end in some parts of the country...

I need to finish thigs up first, but I am thinking in 2 weeks for a shake down run then to the big lake in 3 maybe 4.

This Saturday the new boat goes in!! Since its a 29' footer I am not going to trailer her. So I will need to install my electronics & upgrades at the slip. More of a pain since I can't just pick it up and move it to my back yard.

In a few weeks I will be taken the whole week off to work on her. It should be good & rewarding to get her were I want my boat to be.

I moved in january to a waterfront home. I don't have enough depth here for my Vista, so I'm still searching for a new marina. I have it narrowed down to 2, so, no date for splash yet.

Cold and wet here in Western Michigan. A possibility of 3 more inches of rain tonight. At least the Lake is filling back up! Now we just need to do something about that wind chill. Mother's day weekend, for sure.

For us we want to be lifted back in and floating by Saturday May 11.

The following weekend is the Canadian Victoria Day holiday weekend (May 18) and we like to cross the lake over to Metro Beach Metro Park in Michigan USA as our first boating run of the season.

Having our boat in the weekend before our long weekend gives us an opportunity to give her a good run to make sure everything is running well before our lake crossing.

Mike.

Considering that it snowed here on Monday and Tuesday and that we had a low of around 26 degrees F last night I think that I will play it by ear. I really want to wax the boat before I put it in the boat before I take it anywhere.

I was really hoping for a nice weekend before Memorial Day for the first splash, but with this weather it doesn't look good. But I will be in Memorial Day weekend rain/snow or shine. Its looking like I will get to spend that week on the boat. :D

After a non-boating summer 2 years ago, then the best season ever last year, this looks to be another non-boating one for us. Pretty much all of our time this year is going to be spent doing college visits.
