I was at our Yacht Club over the weekend and they put about 20-25Ggl of diesel gas in my boat when it takes regular gas. The person handed me the fuel pump and without looking I started to fill my tank. I pulled out of the marina and started to have issue. I make it back to the dock barley, and now in a pissing match with the Yacht Club about who is going to pay for this......any help ??????

Hate to say it, but if they handed you the pump and you put the diesel in. I don't think they are going to be much help.

Well, see if you can bargain with them on the pumping of the contents of your fuel tank. You'll need a drum or some storage containers. Don't pay waste disposal fees, put an ad on craigslist. Someone with a kerosene heater or other type of equipment like that will LOVE to take it off your hands.

I'd try some octane booster and see if she'll run well enough to burn it off.

Octane booster is kerosene, I'd say he already has enough of that in there :)

The octane booster we have in these parts is not kerosene.

I think the best off the shelf octane booster will raise the points up .1. So instead of having 87 octane, you get 87.1.

I've used toluene in the past in race cars, it's like 107 octane. It's A/F ratio is also the same as gasoline.

No, it's not. Gotta pump it all out. Not a total waste tho, someone will buy it.

Carb'd or injected engine?
Get it pumped out, regardless - even at your own (minimal) cost.
Get them to subsidise the next fill?

Diesel in a gas engine is worse than gas in a diesel rig. It will trash the valves and fuel system, so you need a pump out, flush and all filters and fluids in motor changed at the least.

It can get pricey in a hurry....if you have full insurance coverage then file a claim. They will handle the subrogation with marina and their insurance Co. If you have no insurance file claim with their insurance Co.

Take immediate action to minimize damage and save fuel samples, filters and any parts. I had my mind on another planet and put gas in my diesel truck...my agent said not covered.....I filed claim and argued it wasn't excluded from policy and they paid under comprehensive......$ 1,800

I would go in front of the board of governors on that one since the attendant handed you the wrong fuel pump. Prior to meeting with them, go through the past minutes of the meetings and see if they ever compensated a member for something like this in the past. Heck, our yacht club sanctioned the use of ethanol one year and many owners had issues with their boats and the club pumped that crap out free of charge.
