yea it turned out great.. if you think about it technically its a brand new boat.. as the hull was never even drilled for the joining the top cal and bottom nor was the motor cut or the edged final trimmed of the top or bottom.. so basically its a New Old Stock hull from a company you cannot even find on google lol.. local made, local few... and every element other than the shell is new. the cool thing is it will be registered as a 2013 custom home build so if he ever decided to sell it its a 13'... and think 60hp on a light 16' boat will zoom. the two of us can pick up the transom with the motor attached. bow on the trailer. 3-4 could pick it up and walk it where ever... This is a dual purpose boat. His Yacht detailing & marine services company now owns the boat and it will be a work boat with 2 large 18' orange round bumpers and he can detail the sides of the boats. Then on weekends fish and hit the beach. nothing like sweat equity saving money and then being able to rite off your new boat on next years taxes... my favorite thing about the boat is how packed with features it is while remaining super clean and simple. Everthing is thought out and hidden and well placed. in a matter of a couple minuted he can toss on the motor cover trim up the motor, toss all the tools in the compartments lock the latches and walk away leaving it at the dock masters slip or the transom free space at the boat he will return to the next day. the rear bench compartment is hidden under the cushion. the gas tank is hidden in the bow out of the way. Its not flopping around banging feet. the boat will be very well balanced at higher speed even with one person bc of the gas acting as a bow ballast. yall can probably tell by now that sweat equity and making boats nice is something my family does... my 22 year old little brother he buys old alum jon boats (no motors most of the time) rebuilds a motor fixes any dents in boat. does a custom marsh grass paint job and duck blind. he flips ready to hunt duck boats for 2-4000 dollar profits.. Last summer he had 8 boats. he constantly is adding a new boat. between him and his 2 roommates at any given point in time there yard can have 4-15 boats in it. He has a small house on the marsh (no deep water or a dock) but the landing is in the culdasack between his house and the neighbors. They use a riding lawn mower to launch the boats lol and can beach them in the side yard.. |
