I'm putting my toy forsale finally, a turbocharged 92 Lexus sc300. I can quick sale it for around 12 without waiting a year for the right buyer to get like 15. The goal is to get a truck to tow the boat. I have a daily driver ('12 ford mustang) but wouldn't mind a decent truck for DD also. One day I might get a Vista so I need something with a decent tow rating. The 2005 era Nissan Titan has caught my eye. They run around 9k here in FL. 9500lb towing. 4 seats. Anybody know how they tow? Anything else decent around the 10k mark? I'm not really a domestic fan unless its diesel. |

Now that I have a proper boat, yes I want to badly. There's probably 20 Titans around here in the 2004-2007 year range for 8500 on craigslist. That will give me a few bucks to put 15in LT tires on the trailer and fix the inop disk brakes. Unless they are horrible trucks its my #1 choice so far |

I looked at the Silverado. I can't deal with GM interiors they're absolutely horrendous. |

afw200 wrote: Toyota Tundra without question over a Titan, if you can afford one..... I can't. I'm not looking for a big investment for something to use every day at work. It might get 20 miles a week tops unless I'm towing. No financing or anything. |

You should be able to get more than 1,200 for your Lexus. |

The car is probably worth 20, but it sat for 4 years in a carport untouched. The rear bumper/trunk paint is faded from sun damage. A/C doesn't really cool anymore. Powersteering leaks. Interior leather got kinda stiff, sunroof rubber got hard kinda leaks in heavy rain, etc. You know all those things I say about a boat gets more damage from sitting than use? Same goes with a car. It otherwise runs and drives insanely, but is in need of some TLC that I really don't feel like doing. I'm okay taking a hit in price to see it gone before the lack of use does more damage. |

A Chevy is cheap to buy, cheap to use and cheap to maintain. Mine have been as reliable as any vehicle I've ever encountered. I just had to put a new water pump on my 98 last fall. That was the first repair I've done to the truck since 2003...Oh no I guess I had to put a new alternator on it in 2010. It went out when I was towing the boat home from a trip to the UP. I stopped at Autozone and had it replaced and back on the road in 30 minutes. I knew they would have it in stock and knew that it would be easy to replace. Same thing with the water pump it was in stock at my local parts store and only cost $40. Try that with an import truck. My 99 Suburban has been less reliable but I bought it cheap with no known history and I kinda knew I was getting something a little questionable. |

Here's my cars ad http://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/3861731162.html I've been finding 2007+ Tundra V8 crew cabs with around 120k miles in the 10k mark towards Miami (go figure). |

I've had good luck with my Chevy's. My Silverado ran well, and my '03 Tahoe just passed the 200K mile mark.... If I recall correctly, the Titan got the Trailer Boat Magazine's tow vehicle of the year a few years back. |
