So today my daughter surprises me with a visit home from college for father's day, and we head up to the lake for a barbeque on the boat and some relaxing. After we load everything, I start up the 150hp evinrude outboard, let her warm up and we're off, about 200yards later, she shudders and stalls. Never had that happen before. I restart it and u turn back towards the dock. About 25 yards later, stalls again. It would start right back up, but once I put it in gear it stalled again. I check the fuel line, and the primer bulb is empty. I squeeze it a few times and feel the one way valve dislodged and rolling around in the bulb. Wind got us close enough to shore so I could walk it back to our dock. An hour later after a trip to Wally World, new primer bulb installed and she fired right back up. Ran it for an hour with no more problems. Lesson learned, always keep a spare primer bulb on board. ![]() |

Or you could just remove it in a jiffy if stuck |
