This actually occurred a couple weeks ago but I just heard about it. I was wondering why I recently saw a couple local gas stations with big signs out front stating "We sell ethanol free fuel". http://tradeonlytoday.com/home/525469-florida-law-repeals-ethanol-mandate |

It is only a matter of time before this happens throughout the nation. Here we are sitting on one of the world's greatest oil reserves and our brilliant government mandates the use of corn for a fuel alternative which in turn increases our food prices though the roof. |

Ethynol is not driving up your food prices. The uptick in corn price because of its consumption that way will not show up at food stores. For example if you triple the price of wheat you would see a cents increase in a loaf of bread. |

I am currently in the Pocono Mountains and today I passed a gas station with a big sign out front. It said "All Of Our Gas Is 90% Ethanol Free" LMFAO. |

Your graph is missing a few axises. Are you saying the only reason for the increase in the use in fuel? Don't believe every graph you get in your inbox.... |

Nice! I have one about a ten minute drive from home, only downside is I have to drive the opposite direction from the marina. |

ric wrote: There's 2 spots around my house already that advertise ethanol free What is the price difference compared to E10? I would imagine non-ethanol is higher but given you get better mileage, not to mention better for your engine, it is probably worth it. |

Last weekend I rebuilt a carb with damage from using Ethanol blended fuel...... Corrosion and damage are real, blended fuel are a real bummer and around here getting real gas is getting difficult..... |

Its the real gas that damages them. If we had boats running 100% ethanol you'd never rebuild a carb or worry about storage |

Ethanol absorbs moisture in greater quantities vs real gas. while in storage, ethanol evaporates leaving the Water, which corrodes. If the carb or fuel system was designed for use with blended fuels, could be much less of a problem, but if not, you could have issues. I do know since I have little choice but to use these blended fuels, my problems have increased...... This is just my personal experience. Ric, you live in a different local and use fuels and additives from a different refinery, transport, service stations, ect., I can see that you could have different results..... |
