Hey guys I was wondering if anyone knows of a good steering wheel replacement for our boat. Mine has starting getting a spotty fungus under the coating on it and I wanted to get it replaced. If I get a new wheel do we need an adapter kit? Thanks again

While we are waiting for someone who is familiar with the Horizon, there are a few ways that steering wheels may be attached.
If you have a six bolt pattern you should be able to order a similar wheel and attach it to the existing adapter.

Five-bolt patterns are available and the 3/4 inch tapered shaft is very common. I have a six bolt wheel on my Vista but I believe some model years have a tapered shaft. If your wheel is sitting on a tapered shaft you will have a large centre nut holding the wheel on. After the nut is off you might need a puller to release the wheel.

Some original wheels have an integral hub, usually with the taper. Many aftermarket boat wheels have this arrangement.
Some original wheels have the 6 bolt pattern attachment to a separate hub .
Some of those hubs have the taper fitting (e.g. like on my 1999 Sundowner), some are splined like on my 2004 Sundowner.

If you search for a topic called "Ric's mods", he details the wheel change he made on his Horizon.

You will only need an adapter kit if the wheel you are getting requires it. Pull your steering wheel out first to identify the one you have then you can begin your search for the style of wheel that you like. The sky's the limit for choices out there...

Here is the "Rick's Mods" thread that Graham mentioned...

You will need a Nardi style PCD, not a MOMO PCD wheel.

There's a link to the thread in my signature. I've done a many things to an H180 and documented it. Takes literally 2 minutes to change the steering wheel.

I was quite happy with how my H180 turned out. Didn't have that much invested.

I believe that question is directed to Ric, I do know that Grant carries the wheel and the center cap you can get from Four Winns dealer, parts.
