That is one heck of a way to get a write-up on you and your boat! I think I'll pass.

The descriptions were sensationalized, but damn, it hurt just to read. The worst is the pic of him laying on the platform next to the hooks because you can visualize it...awful.

My father was recounting last night a guy he knew who jumped off his sailboat which was on the hard, and got hung by his wedding ring and was literally hanging there until he finally broke loose. Just be careful everyone!

Yeah, there have been a number of catch/gouge injuries on boats over the years. I recall hearing of one woman that lost an eye when she fell face-first onto a bracket for holding a dinghy. Another getting a wickedly nasty gouge into their thigh from falling onto a cleat. Ya gotta be careful when on a boat, 100% of the time.

Putting metal hooks that stick up on a sometimes slippery swim step has to be one of the dumbest things I've ever seen a human being do...... Darwin award for sure!

Given the way the dinghy clips work there's really not much alternative. There are sometimes sacrifices that need to be made in order to get something to work. Along with those come requirements to be vigilant about the risks, 100% of the time. But that's one reason I skipped on going with a dinghy storage system. I'd much rather have those clips on the removable slots they make for them. But even those would leave some edges on the decking. I want to avoid having anything back there likely to catch on someone, whatever they might be doing.
