Picked up our new boat last night - it was a sad decision but we are leaving the Four Winns family.

New boat is a 2004 Rinker 232 with 350 & bravo 3 drive. Has 146 hours & was stored inside its whole life. Great shape.

Got deposit on old boat last night & they are picking up on Saturday.

Another busy week.

Sad, yes, but looks like a great choice. These mid-2000's large bow riders are great boats. Congratulations.

We had been looking for over a year to find the right boat. When we found this one we knew right away it was the one. Old boat leaves on Sat. We are thrilled. Tires on it look like brand new - Goodyear Marathons - originals - inside storage kept them in good shape. Stopping by discount tire to inquire about getting some new tires by the end of the week.

Congrats on the new boat, Very nice looking. Quick hit on the Goodyear Marathons .. Looks closely between the tread for splits and cracks. I just changed out mine after only 3 years, They had good tread on them still. I just happen't to look down and notice a crack and then really started looking and see alot of them. Didn't move the trailer till i put on new tires. once again Congrats on the boat.

Rinker makes a nice boat and is what I was looking at getting when I stumbled on a deal with the FW. How uch does it squat the Ram? I have same truck.

Boat sits on a Heritage trailer - it is by far the nicest trailer I have ever own. Very nicely made - 4 wheel disc brakes.

Truck definitely drops down with boat back there. Put Bleistin shocks all around over last winter. The front shocks are adjustable & have mine set to raise the front 1.4 inches to lessen the effect of the rake. Might have to look into air bags or Timblens. Will have a better idea after Saturday.

I plan to buy a new truck before long, and I'll have Timbrens on it before I even bring it home.

If your tow vehicle doesn't sag when towing, you don't need them. :)

They are an alternative to aftermarket air bags. Lots of people have air bags and love them. They're adjustable for different loads, etc. It's also easy to find stories of people over-inflating them and blowing them out. Timbrens are a solid rubber bushing that takes the place of your axle snubbers which are attached to your truck's frame above the rear axle. They're "install and forget." They provide about 1" of vertical travel before the frame/Timbren lands on the axle, and then they cushion the load and transfer it down to the tires. In my case, sag was markedly reduced and handling was even more markedly improved; the whole towing experience changed after I installed them, like adding brakes to a trailer that didn't have them before. They're stupid expensive for what they are, but the lack of having to maintain the inflation and having no risk of blowing them out is worth it to me. The other alternative is to add a leaf to your springs (or replace them altogether with stiffer ones). With Timbrens, your non-towing ride quality is unchanged.

Disregard the wet stuff in that pic, I don't know what that is (pic borrowed from the Web).

Thanks for posting up the pics Mike - had no idea what they looked like - thought it was more like a shock.

Mike I've been told that the Timbren's will "knock" (for lack of a better word) over bumps when you don't have a load. Have you had that problem? I agree though...as far as "set and forget"...this is the way to go.

I however went with the airbags. I put about 45lbs in them for my boat, 30 for my snowmobile trailer, 90 when I pick up a ton of pellets and run around 10lbs without a load. I have a compressor in my garage so I didn't spend the extra money for the onboard air compressor.

By "knock" I assume you mean a noise of some kind? I've never heard the slightest sound from them, either loaded or unloaded, and I've had them for a few years now. I suppose something like that could vary by make/model of vehicle, maybe.
