As a diver, I can't help but think what a great artificial reef the Concordia would make if it was sunk in 200 feet of water (assuming it to be about 150 ft tall).

I woke up at 4:30 eastern time to watch this. You can see the scum line and she's coming along quite nicely so far.

If something does break, she just might be a reef after all. :lol:

I agree! However, Concordia still has tons of toxic stuff on board like oil, grease, cleaning agents, and rotting milk/eggs/meat just to name a few. Apparently those toxic materials can't be removed safely without hauling the whole ship off. So much for the artificial reef idea :-( .

My family and I sailed on her in December of 2006... That Jackass Schettino was our Captain when we sailed on her.....

I have had it on all day since I got to work, and its like watching grass grow. even still its an amazing project, I keep looking at it between jobs and it is amazing how much is out so far
