Hey you southern hemisphere/warm climate folks, we could use a little warm-up here in the northeast. How 'bout picking up the frequency of pics from your boating season! Spring looks a long way off here! All I can think about is March 15th (the day I get the boat out of storage). I'm going to need some help getting through this winter!

It's hitting us today. Mid 30's tonight and 50's in the day time. Might come back to 70 on Sunday. I hope.

Yesterday I was on my tractor clearing my driveway and my beer froze up.

Much worse today. I woke up and watched the temperature fall. When it hit -24.4 I stopped getting the signal from the sensors up on my tower. It came back on a couple hours later so who knows how cold it got. It never got above 0 all day. -6.2 as I type.

I had to turn the furnace on it's so cold.

Winter REALLY Sux!

Wow it's going to be 50 deg F here tomorrow; warmer than some days in the Summer. This time last year it was -5 deg F ! Floods everywhere, ground at saturation level and less than 3 weeks ago horrendous winds with a spring tide meant seaweed 200 + metres from the sea defences ( the wrong side of them !). The storms exposed the roots of 10,000 year old submerged forests and bronze age walkways ; very impressive, the significance is lost on my wife!.

Oh, and ric, I wouldn't say the polar vortex is affecting you. It's not uncommon in your area for temperatures to dip to 30 at night this time of year.

There we go! Keep them coming. I spent last evening finding the perfect lake house to vacation at this summer. Then, woke up this morning and shoveled snow in -1F temperatures. To make matters worse, school is closed again and being a teacher, I just basically exchanged a boating day for a polar vortex day since the make-up day is in June.
