Just got quoted $380 plus parts for a mobile marine service to come to my home and replace both bellows and check the bearing and U-joint. Seems a bit high. What do you think????
Thanks Rob

Sounds about right. If you're not sure how to do it, or not a mechanical kinda person, pay for it to be done. It's one of those items, that done wrong can leave you stranded and cost a lot more $$$$.

If you are a mechanical kinda person, pay the guy, watch how its done, then next time spend $75 bucks in parts and do it yourself. 8)

Thanks,
I am mechanically inclined but have never done this before so I am willing to pay someone the first time and then will DIY from then on.

Under $400 with parts/labor is market average, at least here in FL

Volvo Penta.
Parts for both bellows and water line were quoted as $120 for OEM VP parts. So it looks like $500. I agreed and it gets done tomorrow at my house. I plan on watching and learning.

Take pics and video of the process (if the guy doesn't mind). Also, see if you can get a "beer discount" from him. 8)

The guy who I hired to install the parts of my A/C I didn't feel like doing (through hulls, mounting the pump, inverter, etc) I got a nice discount due to me handing him a bottle of makers mark.
