It was called the Sundowner in '84, but used the Santara hull. Here's a pic from the original brochure, as well as some recent pics of mine.

I grew up boating on an 86 215. Love seeing these boats still on the water today. Brings back good memories.

I definitely like the bow rail. Doesn't get in the way at all, very helpful when anchoring in wave action.
We definitely need the room- we're a family of 6. Last spring I checked out the latest Sundowner 235 and it was way too small. Less headroom in the cuddy, fewer seats, less cockpit room, etc. We can still lounge on the fold down seats or back bench if we want- no need for lounges or pads for us
