Hello everyone - I'm new here and new to boating. We bought a new 2013 H190 at the end of the season. I know there are pros and cons to purchasing a new boat as your first boat. We bought it to spend more time together with our kids (10 &13). I have to admit, I'm excited, but a bit overwhelmed as well. We only took it out a few times last fall before it got to cold. I was "smart enough" to take it out during non-peak times so I didn't have too many witnesses to me getting the boat back to the launch the first few times. So far, outside of the anchors and general safety equipment, I purchased a spare tire, handheld VHF radio and a garmin 531 chartplotter. Is there anything else I should consider purchasing right away? Thanks in advance.

Great choice on the 190! A 2003 H190 was our first Four Winns (2nd boat) and we still miss it! The only thing I can recommend is some floating toys such as tubes, knee boards, and wakeboard type stuff to really keep the family engaged. At ages 10 & 13 I'm sure they would really enjoy that stuff if you don't have it already. Sounds like you have most of the serious stuff covered. Welcome to the forum and hope you have a great summer on the water with your family :D

I'm 33, and I still enjoy tubing! Can't get enough of it. Your kids will have a blast. I was also like you, I launched and retrieved my boat when no one was looking the first few times. Now I can launch and retrieve on a windy day with the best of them.

Welcome to the forum!
