Howdy folks, My 2014 H190 has a tow eye on the transom similar to the picture attached. I have a tube tow rope with eyes spliced into each end. I'd like to know if anyone has pictures of how the rope is supposed to be secured to this type of eye, or has instructions I can follow. I've looked on the web via google search, and find many posts explaining some different procedures, but have not had much luck finding a picture of the finished attachment. Thanks everyone. ![]() |

Insert the loop end of the tow rope into the circle and onto the prong that faces inward. Easy as that. Also, since it is a new boat, the owners manual should have a diagram, my 1996 manual does. |

I take it a step further than that just because it was shown to me this way. We put the loop into the circle, wrap the loop over the top of the circle and then back into the circle over the prong. It will not fall off accidentally that way while idling and changing riders. |

Use floating rope. Trust me. |

So, it appears there is no "correct way"... If anyone would like to post pictures, at their convenience, of how you secure the tow rope, please do so. I'll be experimenting with the previous suggestions in the mean time. Thanks, Steve |

Here is the instructions from my manual: (no instruction on rope attachment, and no diagram) Quote: Transom Ski Tow Ring: The transom ski tow ring is mounted on the transom above the integrated platform. It is available on all models except outboards. All these models should pull up two skiers under normal boating conditions. However, Four Winns recommends no more than two skiers be pulled behind the boat at any time. Do not use ski tow fitting for lifting or parasailing. Fitting could pull out of deck resulting in serious injury or death. To prevent personal injury or damage to the boat, DO NOT tow more than two water skiers with the transom mounted ski tow ring. NOTICE: Skier’s weight, boating conditions, amount of gear, and operator’s experience will affect the number of skiers which can be pulled. I am with NiagraChillin... I Just tie a loop into my tow rope, and hook the loop over the center finger. Simple. |

The correct way is however it works for you, and doesn't cause a problem to remove. ![]() |

I always found it easiest to just hang the loop of the rope on the finger as Niagra Chillin said. I never had problems with the rope coming unhooked in 18 years, and my '95 190 Horizon's tow hook did not have the ring. I'm sure I would not impress anyone with my rope braiding and knot tying skills. All I would accomplish is waste boating time and shorten the tow rope ![]() |
