This is a good idea...but asking for $100k is too much. He could successfully launch this idea with less money than that. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/31 ... =discovery |

Dude's a bit late to the idea. http://www.wakeboards.com/Ramp-N-Clamp-p/ramp_n_clamp.htm?gclid=CNjexb6q_L8CFU4F7AodKV0ARg&gdftrk=gdfV23113_a_7c936_a_7c3435_a_7cRamp_d_N_d_Clamp http://www.boatlatch.com/ I find several others. |

Well, my opinion is that this idea is flawed on many levels. Every boat/trailer combination is different. There is no way that one stationary device can accommodate all of them. Every ramp is different. To assume that the angle of the ramp and the approach angle of the bow hook will work every time is short sighted. There are many ramps that would require substantially more power to get the boat up the trailer far enough to get it to latch and still maintain the proper angle. Any device the requires the use of judicious power to load or unload from a trailer is a bad idea. Prop wash on a boat ramp deteriorates it and is just bad in general. |

If all the ramps were like the one in the video, I'd never need to get wet either and would not need any auto clamp or latch. |

Was it just me or was that bow eye abnormally long? The angle of the dangle at the ramp at the local lake wouldn't work. I have to stick the boat, hook strap and crank her up. I would have to blow all water out of launch area to get it to eye....if I missed I would be in the backseat of my truck and could hitch it to the seat belt strap. I can see backing in and some yahoo motoring thru and wake pushing my boat forward and it unlatching. Me standing on ramp like an idiot. How cool would you be swimming out to boat mumbling launch and latch this! |
