Here in Central Illinois I'm trying to convince the boss that we should use the boat into October. When I was little I remember going for boat rides in sweatshirts and jeans. How long do you all keep your boat out and any good tips to convince my old lady to take a fall ride. Let me know.

Thanks,
Skert

Nothing as pretty as a fall ride on the river. Won't put mine away until the middle of October.

Actually pulling out next week to take of some stuff. Some gel coat repairs, new custom camper canvas, etc...supposed to be an early and cold winter this year.

I'm looking at October 4th for a haul out date. Could be sooner if the weather gets cold and stays cold. :(

We trailer and use into early October typically. Just need to watch for freezing temps. If temps lower than 40 are predicted (or experienced already) I drain the block and exhaust manifolds after each use.
We usually get lucky and have at least a few warm, sunny days in that time frame.

This thread is awful....depressing.....

That being said, I am going to try to push to Nov 1. Might be planning a little fishing trip with some buddies in October, maybe spending a night on the Vineyard or Nantucket. Waterfront restaurants close Columbus Day weekend...after that, there are less options and no swimming, although I did commit to polar bear plunge on Jan 1....

Yup, I'm depressed now too....

We haul and winterize after the first 32 degree night or soon before. The boat is stored in enclosed storage and won't freeze until we get into the teen's for several days in a row. Fall/Late Fall and sometimes early winter boat rides are the best!

We usually go to mid-October. Fall colors in the Ozark mountains from the water can be incredibly beautiful!!!

I have never winterized prior to October 25th before, and I am just outside St. Louis, so not too far from you. There isn't much better than throwing on a sweatshirt and having the river to yourself as you cruise along and check out all the beautiful fall colors.

This year, with the new boat and slip, I am not planning on winterizing until after Halloween.

Usually the last week of Oct, then there was the time I pulled it out 3 days before Hurricane Sandy, which we had no idea just how bad it would be...
