That looks CCCCOLD.

Is that in fresh or salt water?

I would say by the way the folks in the boat are dressed, that it is indeed, time to put the boat away!

That's England for you, yes its the south coast sea water temp is 17degC so yeah not warm relative to other parts of the world.

Mind you I windsurf all year round pretty much, so a decent wetsuit & your fine its getting out & dried off that's the cold bit.

The boat is currently tucked away, semi winterized hoping to still get her out before the end of the year....... if we get some nice days, though thats looking doubtful currently.

17 deg C, you Southern boaters have tropical conditions compared to what we have in the North West !!!. In shallow water it reached 17 deg.C in 2005, never anything like that since except for this year's 15 deg. C.

My last run this year was on a nice 65* F day (18*C), but last year when I pulled it out it was 42* F which is about 5.5*C, now that was cold, even tho the old carbed engine started right up. Only bad part is climbing over the bow on to the trailer, cold feet lol.

I used to use straight 30 or 40 motor oil but switched to the Merc 25/40 which seems to give faster starts at lower temps.....

Our summer water temps are usually about 72 * F which is about 22* C.....

However, the hard core fishermen go out in small open skiffs with outboards as cold as freezing here, 32 * F or 0 * C, hard to believe but they are used to it. I have seen them 2 guys in a boat the guy on the stern is working the tiller and the guy on the bow has an ice breaker and is busting up the skim coat of ice (salt water freezes at 28 * F....brrr.....

Bay scallop season begins tomorrow and it's going to be a nuthouse down on the ramp with the skiffs you are talking about around here. Sunday looks like high of 49, which is around 9C. Water temp is still in upper 50s (13-14) in Nantucket Sound with around 60ish (15+) in the bays and rivers, so not too bad.
