I need to replace my seats in my 1988 205 Sundowner. Does any one know if the box in which the seats sit are 10 inch or 12 inch? |

10 or 12 inch wide, long, tall? I don't have the "headknocker" back to back, fold out seats. Have you considered switching out for pedestal seats? They open up a lot of room in the cockpit. |

I need to replace them but I do nmot know if they are 10 or 12 inch or does it really matter. |

I agree with switching to the pedestal seats, they will give a lot more room in the cockpit. You will have to remove the seat boxes though and have to either re-do the carpeting or (preferably) get rid of it all together and gelcoat or coat the deck with a marine deck liner. I have the pedestals in my '88 Horizon (same hull different cap design) and there is a lot of room between them and the rear bench seat. |
