Hey guys so my out drive keeps lowering after sitting for a couple weeks. I noticed it over winter but it seems to have gotten worse. Parked the boat 2 weeks ago on trailer and motor was all the way down yesterday. I'm going to keep a close eye on it to see if it gets worse but it seems sometimes it's fine and other times it will drop. Any ideas. Thanks

I find on my SX Drive, that if I fully raise & lower the drive 5 odd times, it seems fine again for a month or two.
I put it down to my boat's character! :P

One of the seals in your trim system isn't fully sealing. If you can't find any leaks, it's probably escaping back into the trim fluid reservoir.

If you are not leaking oil, it can be a seal in the trim pump valves, or it could be the O-ring internal to the trim cylinder (either one, does not have to be both).

As deafwish implied, if it's not leaking oil, you can wait for it to get worse before addressing the problem. Lowering over the course of "a couple weeks" is not too bad, but if you are noticing the trim creeping down while you are cruising, then it's pretty bad.

It's not too hard (or expensive) to replace all the O-rings in the trim cylinders DIY, but you need a spanner wrench to unscrew the cylinder head.

Is the trim reservoir a sealed unit?

Yes but would have a pressure release for air.

^^^ Correct.
I can unscrew the pressure release bung and remove/ replace the hydraulic fluid.
