Post subject: | Mooring Cover |
I have a 245 Sundowner which I keep at our local marina on its trailer. I keep it covered with its mooring cover. The past few days we have had some heavy rain and I managed to go and check the boat out the other day. What I found I did not like. The centre of the mooring cover was full of water and from the weight some of the clips at the stern unclipped. I think that the canvas has also stretched slightly. I am wondering if anybody out there has any ideas of how I can modify or at least raise the canvas (without damaging it)slighlty in the centre so the water runs off. I tried the table stand but that was too short. Thanks ![]() |

Is it the cockpit cover or the mooring cover? The cockpit covers are held on by press studs and sometimes bungees at the stern. The mooring covers have a drawstring. The FW cockpit covers are usually supplied with extendable poles to raise the centre of the cover. On my '99 225, there was one pole. On the '04 245, there are 2 poles. These poles have a male press stud on their ends, with female studs on the covers themselves. I don't have a mooring cover for the 245, but I did for the 225. I used to use the extendable pole from the cockpit cover to raise it. They might be listed on the FW web site spare parts page. Regards, Graham |

Yeah it is a cockpit cover. Looks like I will have to enquire and get myself some poles as you guys mentioned. Thanks for your advice. |
