Post subject:  328 Vista New Flooring Pics
In case anyone else would be interested in considering replacing their current boat flooring with a newer type of marine flooring called Luxury Woven Vinyl, I have included three pics of ours that we laid down this past weekend. There are many patterns (including teak) and colors to chose from. Infinity is the manufacturer.

Overall we are happy with our flooring purchase. The flooring does have a bit of what I would call a slight sheen which can in my opinion make the color appear a little lighter in color as compared to looking at the flooring from a different angle. The flooring has a nice amount of cushioning and is very resistant to staining, fading etc.

How do you think it will fare with salty water traffic i.e. wet kids in the cockpit?
Is the fabric porous?

I think it would be fair to say that this flooring would do quite well in salty water traffic especially as compared to typical marine carpeting. I removed our factory carpeting when we purchased our 328 just because I really didn't like how long it took the original carpets to dry when they got wet. Still have the original carpets for our galley and cockpit that are in like new condition. I probably should sell them.

When we start swimming and getting this stuff wet, I'm hoping just a towel wipe down would all be that is required at the end of the day to return the flooring to dry like conditions.

Isn't this carpet porous to where water will flow through to underneath? I bet you just leave the carpet in place and the cockpit flooring will dry naturally due to the carpets cellular makeup. I can't imagine that the manufacturer would expect you to lift up the carpet, dry the flooring underneath and then put it back down.

We paid a little over $2100.00 Canadian taxes included for the complete cockpit, galley steps and galley flooring.

Based on the properties of this flooring, I don't think the product would be considered porous as it claims to be able to act as a moisture barrier. I do think however since it is a vinyl product that the top "weave" surface could hold some water, but the vinyl would not absorb the water like traditional carpet. I'll be doing some of my own non scientific studies on this flooring, some will be planned others not so much. :) Kidding aside, below are some of the claimed features and benefits of this flooring. That is very comparable to the "sponge" carpet I have purchased in the past from the dealer and independent company (what a waste). Looking forward to your review.
