Who all here is a slalom skier?

well my new ride arrived while i was at lunch today. Connelly HP 68". she is a 2014 model. Factory blemish acquired for 79% below retail. All because of 2 dime size blemishes on the bottom where the color pigments did not fully saturate the fiberglass. Full factory warranty, factory sealed box. I am so stoked for my new ride.

I ski a little bit, usually 2 skis but I slalomed for the first time at around 42 years old a few years back. I still try to slalom if I feel up to it. My problem is that my wife doesn't drive the boat and most of our guests haven't driven a boat enough that I feel comfortable having them pull a skier. So I don't get to go skiing that much :(

Used to a little. Never close to competition level. Not really any good, but it was fun. In the last couple decades it usually took a ski that was ..........larger. I haven't tried it behind the 268. I'm thinking it would take a step ladder to cross the wake. Hmmm.. maybe a wake board.......nah, I would just mess myself up bad doing that! 8)

I do a little skiing here and there. I have a Connelly FX and a HO Radius 3 for choppy days, or when I want a bit of an easier cruise.

Here is me behind my boat from a couple of years ago. Sorry for the poor quality, but my wife took it with her phone. I still enjoy it, but only get the ski out a couple of times a year. This particular session combined too much liquid courage and a driver that was not familiar with my boat. By the time I got him to get the boat where I wanted it, I was already wiped out, all of which played factors in me wiping out. I'm definitely getting too old to skip across the water.

I also ski a Connelly. 69" wood from the 80's. I still prefer the bite of wood over glass.

I slalom a little now and then, and also like to kneeboard (hydroslide). I have an old O'Brian with concave bottom.
Like 92_245_sd, I rarely have a driver with me that knows how to tow...maybe once a year. On the slalom, I was never good enough to make it through a slalom course. After the first two turns, I would always miss the next buoy.

I also bought a nice wakeboard at a garage sale for like $30, but the bindings are too small for my size 11 feet. I hate to spend like $150 on new bindings for a $30 board.

When I was young I skied every day I could spending the summers at the cabin and even skied in a few tournaments. Now haven't skied in several years but still have a Connelly Short Line Hook with custom boots that I used in the 80's.

Some of you may know my first ski. Jobe Honeycomb professional series. Dad rode is in his competition days. I started to drop a ski and ride this 67" beast when I was 8. Loved that ski. Then I had an amazing selection of skis in college that the team had.

So stoked to rip some water walls with the new plank.

Nice find!
We slalom. I've got an old Cypress Gardens and my Daughter has a nice newer Connelly.
Far from pros but we like it!
Also have an old wood-looking Comp2 Connelly that needs some bindings.

Doesn't everyone have a pair of Cypress Gardens wood skis in their garage or shed?
