For anyone interested in Table Rock who isn't already following the thread across the street, be aware if you have trips planned that the area has flooded after getting 10" of rain in a period of less than a day last week. The lake, with 800+ miles of shoreline, rose 15' in less than 48 hours. Due to the very widespread nature of the rain, it's going to take awhile to get the levels back down. Mike, not to question your info or anything like that, but have you seen any photos out there that would give us a good reference point for what we're looking at? I understand that it is flooded and is covering the road in those pics, but what does it look like at normal pool? Got any pics of normal depth? Just curious-not trying to discredit your info or anything like that. |

Thanks for the info Mike. Hate to see it like that. The friend of mine that has a place up there said their doc is all the way in as far as they could bring it and you still have to wade out to get to it. The plank with wheels on it that is used to board the doc has twisted since it has no flotation under it. We went through the same thing last spring in N. TX. There was no way to get on any of the area lakes due to the water levels being so high. (If your a trailer boater) For my own selfish reasons I hope TRL comes down by the end of July, which I'm sure it will. David |

Sure, Paul. See the pic I referenced at Indian Point? You can see that the road (it's actually a parking lot) splits just on this side of the parked pickup. To the right is the upper level parking lot (where the truck is parked), and to the left (where the road goes underwater) it goes down to a whole different, lower level wide parking & ramp area (the ramps are normally chained off), access to the docks, etc. That lower area is wide enough to have a row of parking spaces that runs parallel to the water line, then a wide aisle, then parking for 3-4 cars wide down by the water. From where that truck is parked, down to the normal waterline, I'd say is a good 80-100 feet. David, barring more heavy rains (and remember that the spring rains haven't even started yet), I'm sure the level will be back to normal by then, but I don't know what the level of debris will be like. Last year the lake got high early in the season (not nearly this high), and during the 1st week of July the waters out to the west (Shell Knob area) were still nearly impassable due to floating logs. The rest of the lake seemed OK, though. |

Last summer was the first summer in nearly ten years I didn't make it to TRL. I'm ready to get back, especially with a new boat. No need to tear up the hull or prop though. |

...although it's still a long way off, Mike Thompson just said everything is lining up for another round of flood-level rains in the same area next week. |

Awesome. I may be rethinking my plans to go down there in June. After hitting a log last year on my home lake on the very first weekend I had my boat, I'm a little gun-shy about that. Thanks for the reference point on the Indian Point pic. Just looking at it, and not knowing anything about it, you'd think the lower part of the split there is just a single lane to drive on, and that the lake is up about 8 feet to cover it. 80-100 feet is AMAZING.

Yep, 2 feet over maximum flood pool. That lake isn't going to be the same for a couple of years. One of the biggest tragedies is how muddy it has gotten from the James River flooding into it. |

We will send you some Zebra Mussels if you want some help cleaning it up. Watch for floaters for a long time on the lake. It's going to take a while for all of the junk to run downstream. |

Mike, that's a real shame. When you do finally get there you'll love it, but it wouldn't do your trip justice to try to boat in it the way it's going to be for the next few months (at least). Man this sucks. Our trip is not until the begining of Aug. I hope things settle down by then. I know it will still be a different lake then I've ever seen. |

| It should be fine by then! Last year at Lewisville we had similar water conditions.  Make sure and replace those impellers on an annual basis
