Hi All-Our 288 finally hit the water a few weeks ago. I thought I had the anchor hooked up correctly but apparently I don't because it wouldn't work right when I tried to use it last weekend.
Here is how I set it up--anchor on the roller with the metal loop over top of it. 6 ft of chain going back from the anchor. Metal Claw is hooked over top of the chain in such a way that one of the link is locked.
Chain goes underneath something that looks like a handle and into
the locker on the port side. I brought the chain up through the
locker on the starboard side and attached the line to it. I then fed
the chain back into the locker along with the line.
When I go to drop the anchor, the eye of the line does not pass through the claw. There is a pin on the claw, however, I cannot remove it as it does appear to have enough clearance before hitting fiberglass.
Any feedback is welcome--I am new to this kind of anchor set-up.
Regards,
Mike
