I have never purchased a new boat and probably never will (unless I hit the powerball) but I did finally get the service and respect I feel every customer should from a dealer. Many of you have followed my nightmare of finding someone to work on my boat. Well, we drove a total 1,000 miles (500 miles round trip twice) to have Hall's work on our boat and it was well worth it. In working on scheduling the boat for service, I never once was asked the question "did you buy your boat here?". They treated me as if I had just purchased a brand new 378 Vista. The boat was done when it says it was, cheaper than what they said it would cost, and everything worked out great.

I know we all like to b*&#ch and moan when things go wrong, but I thought I would share a story of a great experience. If you are looking for a new boat or come across a used boat from Hall's, I highly highly highly recommend that you give them a look.

I took a hard look at a brokered 225 Sundowner they had, looked like a great boat. Got a hell of a deal elsewhere. If they could have met it I would have bought from them. What did they do to your boat? Did your Tahoe pull it there and back?

They installed air/heat, painted the bottom, aligned the outdrive, replaced the drive bellows and gimble bearing, changed engine and outdrive oil.

Yea, as long as we don't have a strong head wind, the Tahoe actually pulls it really well. Besides the 0-60 in 10 minutes, it stops fine, and trails fine. Some people we argue you shouldn't do it and I would agree, if you have other options, you should use them. But the Tahoe works just fine.

This is my closest FW dealer. I was ready to buy a boat from them this spring when the deal on my 260 came from a Skipper Buds dealer. I called the salesman I was working with (Jim Rigby - He's A+ too!) and told him about the deal I was looking at with Skippers. It's hard to believe, but he "advised" me what a great deal I was getting. When have you heard of a salesman telling a customer to go to a competitor. He knows I'll get 2 footits in a few years and send him some referrals. I've met Harold the owner a few times and you can tell the positive message starts at the top and works down through his people.

Small world, Jim Rigby was who I was dealing with at Hall's. A+ all the way, he figured I'd be going to get the boat from PA when we found out his brokered boat wouldn't go below 30. I will defiantly keep them in mind for any major service I need or when I decide to upgrade.

Woggy--We might be down Memorial Day weekend or soon after that on Monroe. I'm picking up my 225 in PA on the 23rd....

Yep...Jim Rigby is an A+ guy and will do everything to help you out. We bought our first boat from him a few years back. Hall's is a great place as well and does great work...glad it worked out for you.

Jim brokered and sold our cruiser in the early spring. I wanted to buy a boat off of him...he just did not have anything that we would consider buying. He totally understood when I bought my boat someplace else. He knows we will buy another boat off him in a few years.

I have noticed that Hall's brokered boats are very pricey. When we brokered our boat, I was able to price my boat anywhere I wanted. I know there are a lot if not most people that think their boats are worth a lot more than they really are. But Hall's really should educate their sellers as to what their boat is really worth. Of course...they would then run the risk of the selling going someplace else.

Lake Monroe is really flooded right now so I wouldn't be in to big a hurry. We put our boat in the slip on Sunday in that lovely weather we had.

Glad you all had a good experience with Hall's. You might get a different response from some of the local boaters in Muskegon if you asked them. Like any dealer, you hear good stories and bad stories. It sounds like they are improving their customer satisfaction. That is good.

I would like to say that the parts dept is excellent as well, at closing time I show up looking for O rings for the out drives myself feeling bad about getting there at the time I did it was no problem for them they looked up all my parts and not in a hurried manor answered all my questions and sent me on my way real happy. The service dept has 2 fellows named Joe both cool people.

Thanks Hall's Gregg

Ask either "Joe" to find a door latch for a 268 Vista, tried 3 different times, and with the broken latch in hand, they had no clue how to find one. :x

Latchless Cap'n.
