So Saturday we take my buddies pontoon boat out for the first time on Eagle Mountain lake in North texas. We stay out until about 10PM and have a great time with some friends. We are idling up to the boat ramp and hear what sounds like a 496 idling...we turn a corner and see an H2 Hummer backed way too far in the water and a guy in what looked like a 30+ foot fountain speed boat. Now this boat ramp is very steep and even I have to leave the trailer pretty far out of the water otherwise the bunks are too deep. Im thinking to myself "he's not gonna try and power this thing on the trailer I hope"...a split second later he gives this bad ass boat too much gas and it misses the trailer and the front end of the boat plows through the back window the hummer! It was priceless. My buddy and I went over to help only to find both of them were both really drunk and/or stoned and had no clue about the boat they had. I asked the question and confirmed that it was their first outing and they had just bought the boat! My buddy and I loaded the boat for them and get them as far away from the ramp as I could. But no, they cant let it end like there...they turned a corner like there was nothing behind them and pretty ripped the front end off a parked car. Than the cops showed up and the show was over. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera Saturday but I went back out Sunday and they were there, here's a few pics of the aftermath...sorry they turned out a bit fuzzy.

What scares me the most is those idiots were hauling across the water in a boat they have no clue how to operate...and they were drunk. On top of that, when the cops came the night before neither of them were arrested!!

Oh well..here's a copuple pics from our day...

My slip is right next to the ramp. We all sit and drink beer and laugh till we are purple. I would rub the print off my keyboard if I typed all the things I saw.

Not to mention H2 will not do a good job for towing 30’ boat….. It is only ½ ton frame with big wheels….They look mucho but I would not tow with that kind of boat…

Sorry to be the nit-pick police but, the H2 is on a 3/4 ton chassis with a tow rating of 8,200 lbs.

This is when you step (far) away and immediately call the police. The water is no place for idiots like that.

I have a 1/2 ton Tahoe and it is rated for 7400lbs and a 3/4 ton Hummer is only 600 lbs more? something aint right there.

An H2's frame is a hybrid...the front section is a modified GM 2500 frame, the mid section is a boxed one off specifically for H2's, and the rear section is a modified GM 1500 frame. Im assuming thats why there is only a 600lb difference

Geezus Paradise - know your GMs much? PS - total shame about that water spot on the lense for the shot where you are rafted to the toon. That is an awesome perspective of that black SS! 8)
As for the Hummer & Fountain, why does it so often seem wealth and exotic toys are wasted on guys with more dollars than sence?

Last summer I found myself on Table Rock with 2 Fountains and a Baja running WOT and side by side with about 6' between them, headed straight for me, after dark. Fargin' idiots. I hope they all hit rocks. There's no end to the stupidity you'll see on the lake, which is why YOU need to be sober.

I wish I could take credit...the guy in the picture looking at the trailer is my best friend and has an H2 with about 10" of lift and 42" tires. And he's a mechanic for a Hummer dealership so he knows his stuff. He just bought the pontoon boat and we had the frame discussion a couple weeks ago.

The waterspots are the only bad part of swimming with a waterproff digital...I always froget to blow off the lense before snapping the photo

I gotta share one from Sat. Was boating at Lewisville, which many will already know means trouble. So we've put the boat on the trailer to go home and are in the back of the lot tidying things up and this guy gets in a black cadillac escallade truck, black malibu boat trailer (twin axle) and starts backing up. No big deal right, except two of the tires on the trailer are locked up and each time he tries to move the trailer is skidding and bouncing around something fierce. I watch for a second, because I figure surely this guy see's/feels/hears something??? NO, he keeps trying to back the thing up, so I calmly walk over to his truck and he rolls down the window and I ask, "are you aware your trailer brakes are locking up?" He says "really?" He gets out and I had already noticed that his trailer was unplugged from the truck, so I kindly pointed that out. He says thanks and then continues backing from 3/4 of the way down the parking lot all the way to the ramp, rather then using the turn arounds. I have to think this was not his truck/boat. Your right......the follies at the ramp......always something.
