I'm North Orange County, So. Cal. I store the boat in Fort Mohave, AZ so we mostly boat Lake Mohave and Havasu but plan to see Lake Mead this summer. |

I'm from Ventura Co and mainly boat Piru. I know its small but doesn't get blown out as easily as castaic and isn't as crowded. |

Locally we have gone to Lake Elsinore, Perris, and Silverwood to get the boat wet. We prefer, however, weekend trips to Lake Mohave. Do you have any suggestions within an hour's drivetime from the Inland Empire? |

Has anyone put in on Big Bear Lake? I was up there in the snow 2/15/09. The lake looked like it would be worth visiting during the summer months. |

I went up to Big Bear this weekend and checked out the lake. Very inviting. I did not bring my boat but should have. Initially I was told a 21 degree??? prop was in order due to the 7000 foot elevation. I spoke to a marina manager who said the speed limit is 35mph on the lake so a prop change wouldl not be needed on my boat. He said, "You know how much beer you could buy with that prop money ($1700)"? Whew!!! I wasn't prepared for that. A summer without any beer........????? |

We may give Mission Bay a try this summer. I like the idea of cruising up and down the coast. |
