Does anybody know what the weight of the SX drive is? Can 2 men lift it off the transom? At the end of the season I want to take them off and do some maintanance on them.

I don't have an exact weight, but two healthy men could certainly do it. Just have a place ready to lay it down or a stand to put it on. I'd take the prop off first to eliminate that much weight and to protect it.

I can't comment about the weight either, except to say the first time I removed mine I did it by myself without a trolley; Marginal on weight/ awkwardness for one person to do it. I vowed "never again", I built a dolly to hold it when I put it back on. That makes it easier to align the input shaft with the gimbal bearing as the drive is being fitted, without having to worry about supporting the weight of the drive as well. Two people could remove it quite easily, a lot depends on whether you have no ESP and can stand upright when you are removing it, or have an ESP meaning you have to crouch down ; the latter makes it a lot more difficult and potentially damaging to backs.

I built a drive stand on casters to remove and install my Cobra. I wouldn't even try to remove it and install it without the stand, even though you can remove it, installing it single handed is hard on your back. 2 hours and a couple of 2x6s and 4 casters made it all easy!
