Guys I really need your help. I bent the axle on my 180 single axle trailer. When I say bent I mean as in I need the complets 2" box assembly that is bolted to the leafs that has the spindles attatched to it. #1 how do you get the spindles off? and #2 who makes the axles on fourwinns trailers? any help would be greatly appreciated as I want to replace this ASAP.

Do you have a decent trailer shop anywhere nearby? I would highly recommend you have them look at it. They can do it, and do it right, with one hand tied behind their back. Depending on your axle and their capabilities, they may also be able to straighten it back out enough to get you by until a new axle can be made or ordered in. Otherwise, I'd have your dealer do it, but that might take more time. As to who makes the stock axles, my guess is that FW makes their own using bulk stock and the spindle & brake kits they buy from Tie Down Engineering.

When you have time, please tell us how this happened.

My experience on my prior trailer is that the spindle is welded to the axle.

There are some axles (lighter loads) that have replaceable spindles but I've only seen them on torsion axles. If you have to replace the axles, I'd highly recommend going to torsion over leaf. No springs to rust, easier to change flats ( multi-axle trailer), smoother ride for the boat.

There are a bunch of vendors on line that will build you an axle to your specs. I bet you could borrow a tailer form someone who has their boat in the lake all summer while your trailer gets fixed.
