What is the bullet looking cover installed to protect the wire going into the hull from the fish finder transducer called? I have a black plastic one that came W/Hummingbird. I what to install, but I want a chrome one to match the chrome through hull fitting I'm gonna order when I can get the one for the fish finder wire. |

Hi KSJ8 - I think what you are looking for is this: http://www.wholesalemarine.com/pc/S-D-331310-1/180015/Tape+-+Ties+-+Clamps/Stainless+Steel+Pitot+Tube+Shield.html When vertically mounted, the Pitot Tube Shield protects cables and electrical wiring on items such as depth sounders, speedometers and coax cables when passing through transom holes. I would personally use a bit of silicon inside this cover where the cable passes through the hull. There is another type that is either white or black plastic... http://www.whitworths.com.au/products/32385_lg.jpg |

Thanks Aussie, I found a few different ones, just have to find the best deal on that one & the 3/4" chrome or SS through Hull fitting to replace the white Nylon bilge outlet fitting. Just doesn't look right. BTW did you order the tandem trailer? If so what was your reasoning if I might ask? My 190 W/ 4.3 Merc came W/single. |

Hi KSJ8 - yep ordered mine with a tandem trailer - a long drawn out saga!! When they delivered the boat it was on a painted tandem (like in this pic) when I wanted a galvanized gatorhyde trailer. Anyway, after 8 months use of their trailer the new Gal one arrived and we swapped! Why a tandem? With the weight of the 190, I thought I would be right on the limit of the tire capacity with a single axle trailer - with a tandem no problem at all. Also tandem is more stable and less sway I found. Also disc brakes on 2 axles - not 1. |

I haven't had/seen a noticeable sway W/old Bayliner on the Karavan Trailer that had seen salt water & who knows what else prior to my ownership. H190 trailers much better but again it's new not 4 yrs old & unknown prior maintenance. Got the Clam shell & through fitting today ![]() |

Yep, I'm running a small Cuda 240 combined fish finder/GPS on mine. Always a worry when drilling the holes in the hull though - sort of get to the point of no return! My wires came through on the black section of the hull so used a black cover that matched the pitot on the other side of the leg. |
