Well after a 4 hour drive towing the new 224 we finally got to our place on Grand Lake at Shangi La.

First not having the boat in the water before it was everything I could do not to stop at a lake on the way.

We put her in last night for a short trip around the area and what can I say other than. SWEET

Coming from the 180 everything was better.

Now for you pointy nosers it is definately different. With the twin prop and the weight getting on plane isn't really a issue it just picks up and goes.

Today we filled the boat to capacity. 8 adults 5 kids about 1800 pounds.

We pulled up a 275 pound man on skis without issue. Better yet the capacity and room was comfortable for all. The kids played off the platform for an hour. Loaded down still hit 48mph.

The wife and I just went for night crusie and stopped at a little bar for a drink. This is the life.

More to come!

Try the same setup in a pointy nose  . DuoProps ROCK.

Just kidding, Marc, glad it's working well for you. It was a nervy thing to do, towing that far with a boat that had never been out before. Take it easy on that new engine with that much load in the boat!

Well wasn't as nervy as it could have been. Max had it out twice, 4 hours already on it so that actually made me feel a lot better.

Oh and mike don't worry about taking it easy. I've already been told I'm nicer to the boat than the wife.

As I started to say its power is completely different than high power V's. The big sexy v's just jumps out of the water where this just thrusts forward. Definately a preference thing.

The 224 does it right, before I purchased the 2008 224 5.7GI/DP I priced a bunch of different deck boats(if you want to call them that) and for the money and the quality I don't think you can beat it. I priced a Sea Ray Sundeck, Chaparral, Crownline they were all more money the only one I considered was the Sundeck I like the look and have owned 2 Sea Rays in the past they are a good boat. The Sundeck was quite a bit more but I was pretty much ignored going in to the dealership so I said piss on them went to the Four WInns dealership and I am glad I did. We don't have very many hours on it yet the weather has not been the greatest but so far the performance as been great, the swim platform and seat are great.
