Shall we get this year started?

We had a wonderful long Easter weekend at Canyon Lake in Central TX. Good weather, good friends, and a great time on the lake. (Trying to save bandwidth so the pics are linked...)

We even had a nice "adults only" evening cruise on Saturday! Very relaxing.

No issues except for a little dock rash due to the boat sitting a little lower in the water than I'm used to with 8 people on board. Nothing I'm worried about as it didn't get into the glass!

So who's next with the pictures?

Very nice! Super jealous of your weather.

The lake here is at record high levels. The flooding means TONS of debris in the lake, things like picnic tables and docks floating around in addition to trees, branches, logs, etc.

I might go out in a few weeks, but I doubt I'll go over 5 MPH and I'll definitely have the aluminum prop on!

Same here river is way up. April showers ordeal. Still a bit chilly in the mornings for my taste. My son is all fired up got a new rod for fishing. He wants to catch his first fish. Life is good.

I went yesterday and got my sticker for the park. So I can park the truck and trailer for the year while I am on the river.

I already got it washed and waxed for the year. Interior is cleaned. I started her up with the new engine. Boat is ready.

Hydrologic service says next week water levels be right. Then the dock will go in.

Looks nice.

Here we having late feb early march weather still. It was 85 this time last year. Now it is drizzling and 54 degrees after noon. River is flooded and the dock isn't in at my landing yet. Don't matter it is so miserable I wouldn't go out anyway.

Be nice to have river go to normal and dock in tho. Then if it did go to normal temps I would be out.

So my pics be when ever mother nature stops being mad at us here.

Last weekend on Saratoga Lake, NY.

I think I might leave the carpet out - so much easier to clean.

Also taught the dog how to drive:

Our carpet has been in a storage bag in the garage for the last 8 years!

Nice view of the lake!

Love the smooth water, chevymaher!

We're heading out this coming Sunday. Heading down to the coast for 4 days of fishing (daughter's 21st birthday request)!

That river the lickin is small but as you see glassy smooth. I go early early in the mornings on weekdays. I dont see another boat usually. I am on the trailer again by the time it is hot.

Ohio river has had some monster wood floating in it lately. My brother hit something with his boat. I go out circle by the stadium. If i see debris back to the other river.

Last post my wife went with my son and I for a change.

Hope you have fun fishing. I about to go anchor with my son and do just that soon. Fishin little quiet radio playin. Snacks and drinks.

Headed down to this place... https://www.google.com/maps/place/Port+Mansfield,+TX/@26.5600024,-97.4696664,13z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x866f14d182e93e49:0x50ae1845fc5b8bde!8m2!3d26.5547882!4d-97.4249807?hl=en
Small fishing town away from most anything. 26 miles to the closest grocery store! We try to go at least once a year.
Have a good fishing trip with your son!

I will have fun fishin thank you.

I got 6 fishin poles and he wanted a new one. He said one all his own. So I got him one. He got a little tackle box I keep in mine.

The engine was out in the boat. The warrantee deal I spoke of. Anyway I was taking him fishing just go to the lake walk down the bank deal. I walk out the back door and am headed to the truck. I look he is standing looking at the boat and tractor. I said what are you doing come on. He said don't you got to start the tractor to move the boat. So you can hook the truck to it.

About broke his heart we weren't taking the boat. Me and the boy have a blast on out little outings. Fish hike whatever grabs our fancy. He is my sidekick on the river in the boat.

When we went with mommy. He started taking the tarps off the boat. Mommy said what are you doing. He said dad says this is my job I am helping dad. She thought that was just to cool.

Well you already know it is just good family fun these boats are.

Just got back from our fishing trip, so figured I'd upload a couple photos. I only took a few as we spent most of our time "off-line"! Very relaxing...
(images are linked as they are quite large to set up as pic attachments here)

(Can you tell that we're kind of a Jeep family?)

View out the front door. Awesome sunrises!
