First question I have is what drive lube to use in my 4.3 mercruiser? The second one is has any one ever stripped their crank on the boat trailer and if so what do I need to replace mine?

Mercruiser lube from the local boat shop. Nothing else unless you want to void warranty  I don't know you would use anything else :?:

You should use Mercury High Performance Gear Oil. You can get it at any Merc dealer.

As for the trailer issue, sorry I don't have a trailer, but someone with one should chime in and help you out.

Stripped the crank? I'd need more info to help with that. But if your winch has malfunctioned, I'd expect it to be covered under warranty. You can always buy one on your own, but yours is nearly brand-new.

Ok I was cranking the boat up on the trailer and now the crank just spins freely without pulling the boat up anymore. I think it is stripped. It is probably under warranty but my dealer closed down so if I can buy it cheap because the next dealership to me is 125 miles away. To much in gas money for what i think is probably under 75 dollar part.

I'm not sure which winch is used on your trailer, but the larger boats use a 2-speed winch. You change speeds by pulling a lever forward and sliding the crank over about an inch. In between the two positions, the crank turns freely. Are you sure that isn't what happened on yours?

If you bought the boat from a dealer just contact FW directly. It's covered under warranty. I did when i had the bolster plastic break. They sent a complete flip-up portion free & didn't want the original back.Excellent customer service
