Post subject:  Last Weekend

The summer went to fast for me this year with the new boat. I can't beleive I am taking it out of the water until next spring. It is about two weeks earlier then normal thats because I am going to Vegas Sept 18th I think thats a good trade off. We will have ended the season with about 40 engine hours, would of been more if we could of used it every weekend this summer. I am going to take it to the marina Monday get it winterized and have them do the 20 hour inspection as I did not pull the boat out for that. I do have a few things wrong with the boat, trim gauge is not working properly(that seems common among forum users) speedometer also only works when it wants, and the volume on the radio doesn't seem to be working, all pretty minor in my eyes. I think this Labor Day weekend will be fantastic for boating nice to go out on such a nice weekend.

Ouch. We normally don't allow discussion of Winterization and/or End of season topics until after Labor Day, but close enough I guess. :(

Did you get a discount for booking so freakin' early? I too plan on taking my boat out after this weekend but won't winterize it until atleast the 15th of October!!! (I plan on cleaning it all up and then keeping it in the garage ready for re-launch at the slightest whim) You never now when a nice day will come along in September or early October. These "toys" are way too expensive to have laid up when there is potential for use. I say you cancel the service and try and get some rides in the early Fall so you can enjoy the colours and the fact that the lakes and rivers won't be busy.

P.S. If the shop can't do it just winterize it yourself... It only cost me three weeks of the season and $800.00 for my mistake last year But.... guaranteed I learned from the experience and it WILL be winterized properly this year!!!!

I live 110 miles away from the lake cabin so even if it does turn nice its 2 hours away. I beleve the winterizing from the marina is around $250 I wish I was a little closer to the lake to take advantage of some nice evenings on the lake.
