I hope everyone and everyone's boat make/made it through the Tropical Storm. We went down to the boat last night and added extra lines and put on the mooring cover. The storm should pass us today around 3 p.m. Stay safe. |

I hope so too. I'm up in Buffalo trotting the new baby around to the in-laws. Had to stop at the boat Friday morning to take down the two bimini canvas sections, tie down the bimini poles and add a couple of extra lines. Haven't talked to anyone at the marina yet. |

I went down to the boat on Friday (I keep it on a rotating mooring in a protected harbor) and took down the VHF antenna and the pennant flags I hang over it to keep the birds from crapping all over (don't laugh it works!). Just made sure the cockpit and bow covers were on tight and that the auto bilge switch was working. Some people were pulling their boats out then but we left it in and it was fine. I went back Sunday and no snaps came undone, the boat didn't take on any water and I got to go out for a nice ride! We had sustained winds of 25-35 mph from 11 pm on and the weather buoy on LI Sound recorded a gust of 59 mph so it was pretty windy. |
