I have just finished my first season with my 224 funship. I have 45 hours on the boat and was wondering if the 50 hour service is worth it. I am planning on getting it fully winterized by a certified volvo tech and get all the fluids changed. I live in the northeast and was wondering what the pros and cons of shrink wrap are.
Thanks

For warranty purposes I'd get the service done, although it may not be truly necessary as long as everything that's supposed to be done at end-of-season gets done. Appropriateness of shrink wrap depends on how you plan to store. I wouldn't want the boat stored all winter with no ability to breathe.

Count me in for service for the same reasons.

I recomend you follow your service plan, whatever one you choose to go with, keep good records and any related info. This will come in handy come time to sell.

As far as shrink wrap, I had it done last year, LOVED it, will be doing again this year.
If you look closely in my photo of my boat, you can see vents they put in the shrink wrap, there were 4 total. Also look at the front of the boat, the shrink wrap goes around the winch, huge gap for air to flow, similar back on the swim deck.

The thing I liked best, I never had to go bush snow off. If snow got much more than an inch or two deep, it all slid off.
Check your local classifieds, I am sure you will have a few advertizing for a reasonable price.
