Well since I have a baby on the way I will not be taking on a new $600 boat payment for the nautique I wanted to get. But I have to be on the water somehow right. Well I found a 1986 Supra Sunsport with 425 hours that needs a bit of work for a very good price...the owner was given the boat by a family member and has not used it nor do they know anything about it. They just want it out of the garage and I am basically stealing it! It starts on the first try and runs great...part of the floor needs replacing due to rot and some of the stringers have rot in them. I know I can replace the floor myself without an issue, but the stringers worry me. Have any of you done this kind of work? I have heard you can replace just the rotten portion, brace it and reglass it and they will be better than new. Thoughts??

I want to put on a boat wrap, a tower, a good system, redo all the teak, and replace the interior. The drivetrain is good but my best friend is a mechanic so we'll pull the motor and trans over the winter and do a complete rebuild. Here's how it looks now...this is the only pic I have of it:

All the decals will come off and the bimini will be gone. I still have the black bimini from my 220SS so I'll put that up there with a black tower. So what do you guys think.

Here's a couple pics of the same model boat that has been correctly updated and restored.

I know its not a four winns, but I want an inboard so I can wakesurf and this may be the only way I can get on the water for a while. Plus how fun will it be restoring a boat and the pride I'll have when its finished

Congrats! that was fast! Can't pass up a good deal though.
Bet if you looked really hard, you could find a gayer wrap pattern than that example

Keep us posted!

I think you're wrong, Brent. I doubt he could find a gayer wrap pattern than that!

I was thinking the same thing, after all that hard work...palm trees, flowers, really?

You could... by making the flowers blue.

Hey, at least he didn't paint it black with a bunch of rattlecans!

All humor aside, I do like the idea of the wraps. Any idea how well they hold up in the water? I love the Black SS markings, but thought they would be even more impressive with a "Carbon-fiber" type look. Maybe when mine finally need replaced, I would go that route.
