Next was the under water lights. I bought two bronze pond lights that I bought off of Ebay. Two 5 watt led bulbs, some wire and a switch for the helm. After doing some research I found that the others out there are just too overpriced. All in all these cost 120.00 for everything. I figured I would try it and see what happened. They have lasted an entire season in brackish water. First was to figure out where to mount them. I just postioned them on the tabs and drilled away. Next was to run the ire from them up and drill a hole above the water line. I then ran the wire through the hole and installed a clamshell and sealant. Next was to run the wire through the aftcabin on the starboard side. The after cabin was already apart. I then ran the wire to the helm where I installed a switch in one of the two accessory spots. Hooked up the power and that was that.

Then it was onto the led strips. I bought two 48" green strips off of Ebay for I think it was 34.00 for both. Then got some wire and another switch of course. The led strips came with a 3m backing so I cleaned the area of the platform where I was going to mount them and peeled and stuck. I placed stainless clips every 10" or so as a back up. Next drilled a hole above the water line and ran the wires to the helm the same way as the other lights. Clam shell on the hole with sealant, hook up the power, and walla. done

These as the other lights have lasted all season without any problems. It also makes it easier to find your boat while on the hook at night. I decided to attach the lights where I did because I didnt want to try to mount a bracket on the platform itself. It is thick, but not that thick

248 Vista,

How are these lights holding up? Are you happy with them?

Everything held up great so far. The underwater lights are not as bright as the Hurleys, but I have single instead of double, and really was not looking to light up Neptune. They do attract small fish and shrimp. They a nice but, I like the green leds much better

I really like how your platform came out, well done. Are you gonna end up keeping your Vista or still looking around?

Thanks
For the time being, I am going to keep her. The job has slowed quits a bit, so the income has fallen off. I will wait until things stabilize before I make a move
