Call me crazy but how about a get together? Gas is cheap, weather warm and we are not in hurricane season. So who out there is in the area and where are we all located? Perhaps we can come up with a location that suits most of us. I trailer my 288 so location isn't a problem.

So, who... what... where... when?

I'm in Central Florida, we boat all over the state. 110 miles from the Space Coast and 40 miles from Tampa Bay

I am in Lighthouse Point Marina in Pompano Beach, Florida.

Ever been to Boca Lake ?

Great place on the intercoastal for a meeting.

Nope but bought my boat in Lighthouse Point... What was the Four Wins dealer... Five Star Marine. The wife grew up in Lake Worth and I graduated from Florida Atlantic. How is Peanut Island? We could launch at Ft Pierce and head south. It's been quite a few years since we anchored off Peanut Island. I understand they have dockage now.

I have not been to Peanut Island yet. We have been heading south on our excursions. We plan on driving up there in the next week or so to check out a marina.

We actually live in Lake Worth.

Five Star Marina is long out of business. The building is still there with for sale signs on it. We pass by it on the way to the boat.

Miami is not that far. We were there last weekend. It takes about 31/2hrs on the inside and about 2hrs on the outside(1-2ft surf) from Pompano.

Thats a great idea, I am in Ft Myersand mainly boat from Boca Grand to Naples. We spend a lot of weekends at South Seas Resort on Captiva Island they have a great marina and lots of things for kids. I have always wanted to cross the big lake to the other coast and check the Fort Pierce and Stuart area also.
Lets keep this going.

So far looks like the east coast if SW Fla Dave wants to be adventurous and cross the state. I've done the west half a few years ago. We took a Labor Day weekend cruise form Roland & Maritn on the south end of Kissimmee to Legacy Marina (formally Centenial Harbour).

A nice meeting place might be The Marriott Hutchinson Island Marina. Lot's of docks, beaches, pool, golf/tennis, etc

Would love to!!!! Since Florida is only 1600 miles from me, I probably wouldn't be trailering my boat, so what about someone let me stay or theirs??

Just kidding, but that would be a great time. In Chicago area, the crownline owners do what's called the Chicago Loop Cruise. It's about a 70 mile cruise throught he rivers of Chicago area and about a 7 mile trip on Lake Michigan. There are about 100 boats that do this each year. It's a great event. They have the coast guard axillary come out and do safety inspections for everyone that wants one and you get a small decal to put on your boat to certify that you have been inspected (helps out when you get boarded by the coasties). They have sponsors and t-shirts, etc.

Now with a twist:

I feel that my wife and I have been very blessed to be where we are at in life (financially) and I know many of you are as well. I would love to do something along the lines of what you are talking about but do it for a charity. Have sponsors, do safety inspections, do trailer inspections, etc. Have a day long event that involves some cruising, a raft up, everyone staying in a hotel that night. Finish it off with a live band of some sort. Just make it one hell of a party but for a good cause. Everyone would pay a "registration fee" but then the proceeds would all be donated to some charity. Call it something like "Boaters for Big Brothers Big Sisters" or something along those lines. I just thing we should all use our passion for boating and get togthers and give a little something back.

Since we are all spread out all over the country, maybe we could do it at differenct locations around the country on one particular day. Similar to "Aquapalooza" that Sea Ray does but instead of making it an event to just get drunk or market a particular product, do it for the greater good.

If you all think I am crazy just say, Woggy, shut the hell up. I would understand. I just feel guilty that I get to have so much fun and spend my disposable income on my boat, boating, and booze, and I just think we could channel our passion for this hobby to some good with it.

Just a thought.
