Owning a boat is really turning into a sickness for me. The winter is killing me. I had so much fun this past summer on our boat, met new friends and went new places. Now that its winter, its all on hold. I know we are all having the same withdrawls from the water (well, except for your cruiser guys and aussie boaters) right now. I look at pics, forums, whatever I can get my hands on to get my "fix". The problem is that my fix doesnt last long enough! One problem for me is that we keep our boat in our garage. We had the house built with the garage extended 5 feet to fit a boat in it. Great...no storage costs and its easy to go out to the garage and tweak on it with all my tools right there and handy. The bad is that I have to walk past the boat several times a day and all I want to do is hit the water. Another tough thing is that since we live on Lake Lewisville, all I have to do is look out the back windows or go on the back porch and I am 100 yards from the water. While having this view is GREAT, it sure makes the lake withdrawls even worse! Keep the pic threads coming, its keeping us alive! |

I hear where your coming from. Our boat is also kept in the garage and have to look at it every day wishing we were on the water. To top that off I drive over a bridge that spans the lake we launch on twice a day going to and from work. Depressing right now as it is totally froze over. |

Well, I'm JUST now able to tolerate visiting my favorite boating sites. I swear, once the boat is put away I go into such deep depression I can hardly bring myself to look at boats or talk about boats. Usually, I don't get really bad until february but this winter has been especially long. BUT, I think I'm back and ready to participate. Hope you all haven't forgotten about me!

Hold it together man!!!! Memoral Day is coming fast. I sured up our rooms at Texoma Tuesday. We have our boating group going to the boat show next weekend (normally around 20 of us, plus the people we bump into that we know from the lake) Its time to start ordering beads, I ordered new bar mats for "crown on tap". Now we have to think of a new top secret gimmick to add to the boat, last year it was water spraying out of the top of the stripper pole from the disco ball. It will be 110 degrees before you know it. If you need something to keep you busy go out and do rain dances we need it!! |

Hey, be grateful. I can't see my baby without driving nearly 2 hours. I wish I could keep her in my garage, under my loving and watchful eye, at all times. I think I might even sleep in the cockpit every so often if I could do that. |

Not sure what is worse. Having the lake frozen over like some of you guys or it going from between 10 degrees for a high to 60 degrees the next day. Warm enough to get the boat out but it is below freezing everynight so in bed she will stay. |

We have had the opposite here in Australia, it has been just too hot to get out during the last week with temps over 110 degrees if my conversion to Fahrenheit serves me correct .Buuuuuuuuuuuut next weekend is looking gooood Sorry if I am rubbing it in there Ardy South Oz |

MOVE TO SUNNY SOUTH FLORIDA !! That's what I did. We should be on the water this Sunday. We have a big trip planned for the end of the month to the Keys. (there is an un-written rule that I have 1yr to gloat about Florida weather. I have 4 more months to go and then I am done) When I lived in CT, it was imperative that we were on the boat every weekend because the season was so short. In Florida we are little more relaxed about how often we go out. It is relaxing to know that we can be on the boat almost any day we choose. It seems to have calmed down the "boating sickness". But, you are right it becomes a healthy obsession for the lifestyle. People are different on the water. Everyone is in a vacation state of mind. |
