I just got done installing my stereo finally. Installed a 5 channel amp and sub. I have installed a ton of stereos before. Tried to test things when i was done, but I have no power to anything on the helm? Trim works, but that is it. Checked all the fuses under the helm and by the engine. Am I missing something? I didn't have the battery hooked up during the install. |

There is a big 10 pin plug on your engine which is the main harness that feeds your panel. This has come loose on me and given me the same symptoms you have. Take a look at that. |

My boat has a helm circuit breaker...have you checked that? It would be just to the left of my Perko switch in this picture: ![]() |

Mine doesn't not have a circuit breaker there. At least not one that is visible. |

None of the switches work? Blower, nav lights, etc? does the Radio fire up? You definitely have a helm circuit breaker somewhere -- check your manual on that? Did you get your battery cables tightened down & secure? double check connectivity to a switch. Got a 12 volt meter? Just start probing around. |

Is the kill cord in place? Graham |

I have no power to anything on the helm, but the trim does work. Just looked at the wiring diagrams on FW site and it shows a circuit breaker next to the ignition switch. Going to check that when my son takes a nap. Kill switch was the first thing I checked and yes it is secure. |

If trim works, then you have battery power. It has to be a circuit breaker or fuse somewhere. Where is your primary fuse panel? Every individual switch has it's own fuse -- lights, blower, etc. Try that as well. |

Also checked power coming into the fuse panel and I have nothing. CHecked fuse panel by the engine and those are all good. Only one back there I don't seem to have power at is the one for the ignition switch. |

It's the kill cord. The same thing happend to me on my first Four Winns when I installed a stereo in it. Make sure it's in place. |

if you have the 5.0 Gxi-B just like i do. that main harness i spoke about is on top of the engine on the starboard side towards the transom. If that looks good get yourself a test light and go through your ignition circuit. |

I checked the kill cord twice and it is fine. So there should be a circuit breaker some where for the helm right? I did notice a connector behind the kill switch that is not connected to anything, but don't see any where it wuld connect to. Its a white wire with a blue strip and I don't see it on the wiring diagram. |

There a box on top of the engine, under the main plastic cover, (certainly on my 2004 engine, later ones may be different of course). It contains a number of fuses (and relays). The fuses are miniature automotive type, on mine the manual indicates F1 and F2 are 20A fuses for the instrument panel. It's described under "Features" in the VP owners manual. Graham |

Graham I did check all these fuses as well and they were all good. I have power coming into that fuse box, but not the fuse box under the helm. |
