I hear you. COL is up big time and I only got a 2% increase in pay this year. I guess on the other hand I am lucky to have a job.

Guys, my wife works for a major airline, and one of the ONLY successful ones out there these days. We live in the Dallas area...you put the puzzle together.

They said this year, hiring freeze and no raises. My wife is not sure if they will be giving COL raises or not, but merit raises will not be happening. Staying employed is a "raise" by most standards these days.

I am in the car business...no such thing as a raise.

Because of the price increase on parts I went ahead and ordered everything I need to winterize next fall also as I was already ordering a new impeller anyway.

I was half tempted to place an order, but rumor has it we are still getting a 3% COL increase this year.

I work for a large US Corporation, but in Europe. No cost of living increases, 1% salary increase last year. due to "job market salary corrections". No increase this year for anyone in the corporation. Many redundancies. A real doom and gloom atmosphere.

Thankfully my wife is a health professional, she has a hard time choosing which new job to take!

Still, if the Summer is anything like last Years, I won't need much money for fuel !

My healthcare insurance through my firm went up 25%. $100 per month more come April. Guess, what also went up? My deductible. Higher premium and more upfront exposure. Lovely.

The evil empire out of the Seattle area is not giving merit increases this year. We don't get COL anyways.

Seems to be the norm.

Times are tougher.

I'm losing my job at the end of March. It is an ugly job market. At least it's the beginning of boating season!

The boss man cancelled last year's Christmas Party and this year's Awards Banquet due to the sorry economy. They even gave me my award in a PDF format as opposed to a plaque. Times are tough!!

You can print it out and frame that up!

That's a memory to last a lifetime!
